Catalyst tubes, also known as reformer tubes, are required in steam reforming processes, in which a synthesis gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen is produced from a carbon-containing energy carrier. The process takes place under high pressure, at high temperatures and in the presence of a catalyst. Our partner Doncasters Paralloy specialises in the production of catalyst tubes by centrifugal castings. Paralloy’s proprietary micro alloys with particularly high creep rupture strength enable long and reliable life. The complete catalyst tubes and headers are manufactured at the Billingham plant in England and meet the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive as well as comprehensive documentation of the required tests, certificates and individual reports.
